Being able to transfer large volumes of water for fracing is a major requirement in the oil field. Fortunately, with Big D’s fluid management capabilities, we have been providing this service to our customers for over six years, which is why we have nearly 80 miles of lay-flat hose and a fleet of pumps with multiple 24-hour crews available. We offer 8", 10", and 12" lay-flat hose for high volume frac or pit-to-pit water transfers for both fresh, produced, or blended water.
Big D’s lay-flat crews are some of the quickest at rigging up and we employ site specific experienced crews for manning pumps and monitoring tanks during fracing operations, as well as during pit to pit transfers.
Big D’s automation department has developed the hardware and software for real-time tank level and flow rate monitoring. Big D is in the process of developing automated tank manifolds to better control flow and prevention of spills.
When dealing with produced water fracs, many customers are moving toward controlled “on-the-fly” blending of their treated produced and fresh water. In January of 2020, Big D launched its fleet of fully automated blending manifolds capable of delivering real time water quality readings, flow rates, and controlled blending variables with total barrel counts of both influent and effluent water.
