Pit Lining
Fracture, Drilling, Deep Bury, Workovers, Environmental and Pit Applications
While the average depth for dozer work on a pit is 10’, Big D is equipped to work in depths of 7’-18’ on pits that range in size from 200’ x 200’ to 500’ x 800’. With ten full-time crews to run and seam polyethylene liners, ranging from 6ml to 100ml in thickness, you can be assured that your pits are completed quickly and efficiently.
The polyethylene liners are resistant to most acids, alkalis and hydrocarbons and outperform their CSPE and PVC counterparts. With Big D’s skilled liner crews, the installation of this high tensile strength, high crack resistant and low permeability material helps prevent waste liquid components from leaking and contaminating. The significant heat fusion seaming process ensures delivery of durable seams to enhance the success of the liner system. All pit liners meet government, ASTM and NSF standards.
In order to provide quality assurance for your liner installations, every pit constructed by Big D has the option for an 8-ounce geotextile to be run prior to the polyethylene in order to reduce the risk of puncture and slicing of the liner.
Secondary Containment Pit Lining
Big D is the only company in our service area that is currently employing their resources to provide this valuable service as an option for tank battery sites. By using 20, 30, 40 or 60ml liners along with highly skilled extrusion welders, we are able to seal secondary containment sites to ensure against leakage and contamination.
Polyethylene Pipe
Big D offers over 850 miles of 3” rental poly pipe with 10 complete crews available to facilitate the installation on your location. The lower cost and quick setup is the most economical process for transferring fresh water to your site. For unique applications, Big D also sells 2”, 3” and 4” alternatives with SDR 11", 9" and 7".
Submersible Pumps
Big D stocks a large inventory of 5, 7.5, 10, 15 and 20 HP pumps that feature 2” galvanized pipes and wellheads for long-term operation. Whether you need a dependable pump for your fresh water well or one for your fracture pit, there is a product in our large inventory to fill your needs.
We also feature four fulltime water well rigs and construction crews to provide 24 hour service to your location, 7 days a week.
Diesel/Propane Generators
Big D carries a wide variety of diesel generators to handle the energy needs on site. For a new site under construction, on a pump jack or to power a water well, our generators run on 480 Volts and come in a variety of sizes that start at 20KW and end at 135KW.
Portable Light Towers
Big D’s lighting options for site construction, well completions, rig moves, security and drilling include a vast inventory of 6KW light towers that run on 110V electrical outlets. No matter what you need to shed light on, we can improve dusk and evening working conditions.
Centrifugal/Booster Pumps
For those locations that require long lines of polyethylene pipe to deliver fresh water to your rig site, Big D provides 10 HP booster pumps to ensure consistent flow.
Trash Trailers
With over 140, 16’ trailers in the Big D fleet, we can set up, empty and replace as fast as your crew can fill them up.
Fencing/Animal Constraints
For many locations where there are drilling, fracture and permanent pits, there needs to be safeguards from contamination. Big D can provide temporary/permanent barriers that consist of 6’ strand, barbed wire fence to keep cattle, horses and other farm animals safe from contamination and injury.
Bird Netting
Big D’s long life field netting provides proven protection to birds and other wildlife and can be custom sized to fit any containment or pit. Custom netting with 1” mesh withstand extreme weather condition, provide resistance to harsh chemicals and abrasions, will not rust or mildew and are offered with turnkey installations or with technical assistance.
